The Haven Project in Horning, Norfolk, has been named as the winner of the Residential Design of the Year at the 2011 Spirit of Ingenuity Awards. The Haven Project provides a gracefully designed and sustainable new house and boathouse, perfectly complementing its surroundings in the picturesque waterside village of Horning.
Due to the high probability of flooding in the Norfolk Broads, only materials that possess long-lasting durability and the ability to cope with a wet climate would be able to meet the demands of the project and Accoya wood as specified. Accoya wood could face the challenge of being exposed to such conditions without shrinkage and reduced performance. For this project, the Accoya wood was used for cladding, decking and screening. Architects, Lambert, Scott and Innes modernised the design by creating a unique, curved Accoya rear screen; this was to resemble a traditional wooden boat construction.

Guard Industry UK has become Associate Members of British Precast Concrete Federation (BPCF). The British Precast Concrete Federation (BPCF) is the trade association of precast concrete manufacturers. The main aims of the federation are to promote precast concrete in the construction market and to disseminate information, through a range of industry representation and by shared knowledge, to add value to its member companies. During BATIMAT, we welcomed certain members of the Club 1 % For the Planet, the environmental association Guard Industry has been supporting since 2007. Created in 2001, this club is aimed at encouraging companies to donate 1% of their annual sales to environmental associations. Since its creation, 1 % for the planet has become one of the most important sources of funding of environmental protection in the world. Today about 700 companies members of this club distribute more than 40 million dollars to 1500 associations in the world.

WoodGuard Color Professional, decoration and protection product for wood.
Particularly suitable for large buildings, the claddings provide for an elegant and stylish finish as they are particularly wide (20 cm) and come in a wide variety of original colours, which we also supply. In all, six colours have been created specifically for Piveteau: Old Wood Grey, Vanilla Black, Nutmeg Brown, Paprika Red, Saffron Orange and Cumin Yellow. Paint Remover Guard Ecological are new generation powerful strippers designed for stripping paints, varnishes and organic coatings. Paint Remover Guard Ecological can be used on a large range of substrates (plaster, brick, metal, wood, stone...) and on many paints (acrylic, glycero, polyurethane, thick coatings...). Paint Remover Guard Ecological have a very quick efficiency (30 minutes for new paints, 2 to 3 hours for old paints and 1 to several hours for thick coatings). The fact there is no paraffin, substrates can be cleaned easily without rinsing and then be covered with a new coat of paint or coating.
Ecological products Developed by our R&D department, these strippers represent an innovation to the market which complies with the European Regulations and meets customer expectations for efficient products, non hazardous for both Human Beings and Environment. These paint removers do not contain chlorinated solvents or paraffin. Contrary to traditional methylene chloride bases strippers, Paint Remover Guard Ecological are non flammable, and with no smell.
Paint Remover Guard Ecological exist in two versions:
Paint Remover Guard VG Ecological is a gel , which can be easily applied with a brush.
Paint Remover Guard VL Ecological is a semiliquid emulsion which can be used easily and quickly sprayed with a low pressure spray with Viton seal. It can stand several hours on a vertical surface (the product can be removed with little work).

Construction Industry professional are therefore required to undertake a specific number of CPD [Continued Professional Development] hours.
Guard Industry UK has now become members of the CPD Certification Service. This allows our subsidiary company to provide fully certified technical in-house CPD Seminars to construction industry professional, including architects and engineers and to highlight our technology and products. Guard Industry UK is also presenting technical seminars at 15 CPD Roadshow events in major cities throughout the UK in 2012.

Guard Industrie has announced exciting expansion plans in its subsidiary Guard Industry UK Limited, starting with the appointment of Roy Spurgeon as Sales Director. Prior to taking up the position at Guard Industry UK, Roy worked in the precast concrete industry for 10 years and also spent over 20 years developing the protective coatings market with Nullifire, International Paints, Hammerite Ltd and Courtaulds Coatings.
In his new role, Roy will spearhead the expansion of Guard Industry's network of Approved Applicators across the UK, developing business in the manufacturing sector as well as channelling stronger representation through specification. Given Guard Industrie's prolific stronghold in France which has resulted in a major increase in sales, the Company's expansion into the UK seemed a natural progression and the UK is considered important for future growth.

WoodGuard Color Professional was tested and approved by the FCBA (European technological and testing centre for the wooden industry). WoodGuard Color Professional was given two applications on fir and spruce wood and tested according to the NF EN 927-6 norm.
After 4032 hours of artificial weathering test, the FCBA noticed that WoodGuard Color Professional didn't flake, blister or crack and that the modification of colour was minimal. Wood didn't whiten nor grey.

Since the beginning of May, the Joint-venture Guard Industrie Italia has become a subsidiary company entirely controlled by Guard Industrie France. Guard Industrie has therefore consolidated its Italian network by buying back the 50% shares of its ex Italian partner Regent Group.
Guard Industrie Italia SrL is managed by Ms Daniela Sirch while Mr Camillo Granata is responsible for the commercial and distribution department. Firstly, this new company will be in charge of selling Guard Industrie's products in Italy and developing a strong commercial network. Secondly, Guard Industrie Italia SrL will deal with the Research and development and the production in order to adapt its products to the Italian demand.

The Défi 3D program was launched in 2009 by the Chamber of Commerce of Seine Saint Denis. It aimed at helping small businesses committed in sustainable development. Since its beginning, Guard Industrie has been committed to developing high qaulity and environmental-friendly products and therefore decided to participate in this program.
Défi 3D has been very positive since it has enabled us to put in place the analysis of our products' life cycle in order to study and reduce their environmental impacts. With these analysis, environmental and health declarations will be done. These declarations will provide objective, qualitative, quantitative and pertinent information to help builders taking into account environmental and health characteristics in their projects.
